Good Morning Band Families,

I am looking forward to us starting band camp in just a few short days!  I just wanted to send out a few reminders before get started.

Schedule

  • August 1-2 is drumline and guard camp from 9-3.  Bring a lunch or plan on going out
  • August 2 is our leadership meeting from 10-12.
  • August 3-5 and 8-12 is band camp from 8-4. Lunch provided

Things to Bring

Please remember at band camp, we are outside 90% of the day.  I also saw that next week it is estimated that it will be the hottest it has been all summer (of course…its always band camp week).  Please make sure to bring the following items

  • Sunscreen
  • Water (we will have stations)
  • CLOSE TOE SHOES
  • Lawn chair
  • Tent or canopy for shade (discuss amongst sections)

Wednesday, August 3rd

I have been asked to sit in on interviews for a new music teacher WCS is hiring.  I will be leaving Cousino for the administration building for the last hour of camp that day.  The drum majors know what we are working on and the plans for the last hour.  Additionally, I have 4 parents who have volunteered to come up to the school for that hour for safety and security purposes (Thank you Mr. Zebrowski, Mrs. Banaszak, Mrs. Rakowski, and Mrs. Griffith). I just wanted to keep everyone informed so that you know that your kids will be safe during that time.

Volunteers

Speaking of volunteers, we still have a few open spots that we need filled for band camp.  Please feel free to sign up if you are able and interested.  Not all volunteer positions require you to be at camp, some times we just need help cutting produce and sending it in the next day with your kid.  Even just bringing in Gatorade is a big contribution. Every little bit helps!  Thank you in advance from the band boosters, myself, and the kids!
